General Information

Welcome to The Illinois 5 Star Spring Football League . The Illinois 5 Star Spring Football League gives the opportunity for programs the opportunity to give their participants early reps and experience prior to the start of the fall season.  

Currently, earlybird registration per team is $200 until Feburary 28th.  After Feburary 28th, registration will be $250 per team.  All programs within the league and within the Chicagoland Area will have an opportunity to host games.

1st Place Champions will receive Trophy and medals

2nd Place will receive medals.

GATE COST

Regular Season Admission Cost:
$5 for age 14 and older
$3 for ages 5 - 13

Playoff Season Admission Cost:
$10 for age 14 and older
$5 for ages 5 - 13

LEAGUE RULES

Game time is game time:  If team is 15 minutes late game will be forfeited. 
   
6U Division (8v8): 8 minute quarters, 2 time outs per half , Clock stops on change of possession, incomplete passes and time-outs. Coaches are allowed on field.

- No Kick-offs, ball placed at the 35 yard line, when not in mercy rule.  Ball will be placed at the 50 when in mercy rule.
- No Punts -  Punts will be walked off 25yds from line of scrimmage
- Extra points - Running 1pt, Throwing and Kicking 2 pts
- Defensive players cannot line up over center
- Mercy Rule:  After 20pt lead -  Game will turn into running clock.  NO BLITZING or LINING UP OVER CENTER.

Delay of Game Penalty: Every team has 30 seconds from the ball set to signal the game is ready for play.  If a play is not executed within those 30 seconds, a delay of game penalty will be enforced and the clock will stop and a lost of 5 yards on the play will be enforced.  If a second or consecutive delay game occurs, the offending will lose 5 yards on the play along with a lose of downs along with clock stoppage.

Overtime:  Overtime will only exist in playoffs.  Regular season games can and will end at ties at the end of regulation.  In case of overtime, Ball will be placed on the 20 yd line.  Each team will have the oppotunity to advance the ball and score on 4 downs. Should one team score and the opposing team is stopped, then the team that scored wins.   If both teams score the same amount of points, then the ball is placed on 10yd and each team has 4 plays to score.  If the game ends in another tie, then the final overtime will be determined by penetration from the 10 yard line, incase of a turnover while in penetration, the recovering team will win the game.

Quick Notes on Rules

-There is no overtime during regular season, only in the playoffs
-Forfeits are worth 6 points
- 6U football is 8v8
-2 points for extra point by passing/PAT
-1 point for extra point by run
-All color Visors are permittable
-Clock stops on extra points and timeouts and delay of game
-1st Delay of game stops clock and loss of 5 yards. 2nd delay of game in a row results in delay of game and lost of down

CERTIFICATION

ALL PLAYER MUST BE SPORTS CERTIFIED OR HAVE STATE ID CARDS IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE.  FINAL TEAM ADDITIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS WILL END AFTER THE SECOND WEEK (APRIL 28th at MIDNIGHT) OF THE SEASON.

CERTIFICATION  -   ALL TEAMS WILL CERTIFY  AT HALF-TIME PRIOR TO THE START OF YOUR GAME WITH OPPOSING TEAM. ALL PLAYERS MUST BE PRESENT AT CERTIFICATION TO PARTICIPATE IN GAME.

ALL TEAMS MUST LOAD THERE ROSTER IN THE ROSTER SECTION OF THIS SITE. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL MAKE PLAYERS INELIGIBLE.

Please video your pregame certification process of kids checking in. We are transparent at every turn in this league. Please have kids remove helmets when certifying  

Just a reminder, there will be no leeway at pregame certs after week one. You don't have your stuff for a kid, they can't play. Players that miss pregame certification, can't play until the second half of game after certifying at halftime. If a kid did not certify at the beggining of the game and plays, the game can be contested and forfieted

GAME TIME IS GAME TIME -  FAILURE TO SHOW UP ON TIME WILL RESULT IN FORFEIT.

IN THE EVENT THAT A FIGHT HAPPENS BETWEEN PLAYERS, PLAYERS WILL BE EJECTED BASED ON THE REFEREES DISCREATION.  THE SAID PLAYER WILL ALSO BE DISQUALIFIED FROM PLAYING IN THE NEXT GAME.  SAME RULES WILL APPLY TO ALL STAFF MEMBERS.
